History-Peugeot

Peugeot manufactured its first car, the **Peugeot Type 1**, in **1886**. This was a small steam-powered tricycle. Later, in **1891**, Peugeot introduced the **Type 3**, which was the first model to be mass-produced and sold to the public.



POPULAR MODELS BY DECADE

1950-59 During the 1950s, one of Peugeot’s most popular models was the Peugeot 203. It was produced from 1948 to 1960 and became well-known for its reliability and durability. The 203 was Peugeot’s first new model after World War II and played a significant role in re-establishing the brand’s reputation in the post-war automotive market.



1970-79 During the 1970s, the Peugeot 504 was one of the most popular models. Introduced in 1968, the 504 quickly gained a reputation for its durability and comfort. It was produced in various body styles, including sedan, coupe, convertible, and estate, making it a versatile choice for many drivers. The 504 was also named the European Car of the Year in 1969.
